I work with paint in the style of drawing. I resist the length of labour normally required to produce paintings, instead encouraging myself to have a quick and prolific style of work. Whilst I often use paint as a medium, my work in general varies between collage, drawing and print making. I’m interested in the collaborative nature of curation and the creation of spaces through the intersection of multiple artists’ or singular artist’s work. My work is colourful and playful, using mark making and visual jokes and I have a strongly graphic style. I am interested in the social constructions that support societies, in how the political can affect the personal and how the personal in turn can affect the political. This forms a background to all the work I produce and I often dislocate images from their contexts to examine them as forms or reposition them in relations to other imagery.
