The work of Alice Sergeant primarily focuses on the immeasurable characteristics of geometric abstraction and its elusive co-existence with peripheral contexts.

With a strong interest in the enigmatic relationship between abstract visual language and aesthetic understanding, working with a purely aesthetically-charged practice opens up inevitable questions about universality and relevance. I am specifically interested in the intimidating concept of infinite visual possibilities and how it manages to position itself into the confines of medium specificity. In an attempt to merge the stylistic properties of two mediums together it highlights our understanding of both sculpture and painting, questioning whether or not these labels can eventually become ubiquitous.
